Overview Postgraduate ProgramsIn the School of Anatomy & Human Biology, our postgraduate studies focus on a variety of areas, include both coursework and research degrees, and can be undertaken by local or international students. Coursework programsThe Graduate Diplomas articulate with the appropriate Masters courses providing flexibility for students. All the Masters Courses include a dissertation, making them a recognised pathway to higher research degrees. Each Masters Degree program is two years full time or four years part-time. Applications are assessed on a case-by-case basis and mid-year entries are possible. Graduate Diploma in Science Graduate Diploma in Anatomical Sciences Graduate Diploma in Human Biology Graduate Diploma in Integrated Human Studies Graduate Diploma of Science (Biological Arts) Graduate Diploma in Surgical Anatomy (Suspended for 2009) Research programs:Master of Science by Research Students can apply for scholarships for this degree, the most common being the Australian Postgraduate Award (APA), the University Postgraduate Award (UPA) or, for international students, the International Postgraduate Research Scholarship (IPRS). For local students who are not successful in gaining a scholarship, they may have the opportunity of undertaking the degree on a fee-free basis by way of a Research Training Scheme place. For international students who are not successful in gaining a scholarship, they may choose to commence their studies as full fee paying students which attracts tuition fees plus living expenses. Scholarships can be applied for annually even if the degree has been commenced. PhD The same rules regarding scholarship application apply as for the Masters by Research programme. GRADUATE STUDENTS' RITES OF PASSAGE Following submission of theses by our graduate students, we consider it appropriate to have those students give a final seminar on their research and be farewelled, in a 'befitting' manner, by the School at the same time. Each student delivers a “Rites of Passage” seminar as part of the School of Anatomy & Human Biology's Seminar Series, or if this is not practical, at an appropriate other time. |
